Meet
the Parents
A
movie review by Garit Gemeinhardt

This
movie is a funny twist of the worst possible scenario, a guy has to face
meeting his girlfriend's parents for the first time. That basically sums
it up. This movie represents the absolute worst things that could happen
to a guy on this already tense occasion. This was no doubt a very funny
movie to most people, but not to me. I felt so tense for the guy the entire
movie that I couldn't relax and enjoy. It was like I could predict what
was going to happen as soon as he started meddling with the parents. The
father, Robert De Niro, was a former CIA agent that still hasn't lost
his cold shoulder and passes it on to everyone he meets. De Niros' great
acting filled the whole emotion of the movie, tense and afraid. The movie
is funny if you are into the type of "I can't believe that is happening"
humor. The funniest part of the movie was the fact that the man meeting
his girlfriends' parents, Ben Stiller, last name was Focker. De Niro calls
him only by his last name through the entire movie. He starts sentences
with Focker, which sounds a whole lot like a different word that I couldn't
mention in this article. Over all I gave this movie 3 out of 5 tickets.
