Fun In The Work Place: Candy Cards

At St. Mary’s College of Maryland, we create a fun “candy card” for each building staff each semester. Using candy such as “Milky Way”, “Icebreakers”, “Extra”, “Snickers”, “Promises”, “Treasures”, “Payday”, “Butterfinger”, “Lifesavers”, “Dum-Dums”, “Mounds”, “Hugs”, “Kisses”, “25 Grand” etc., we create posters that utilize the candy in phrases.
For example:
Dear Queen Anne Staff
No SNICKERS about it: you are the best staff in the MILKY WAY! We have no DUM-DUMS or BUTTERFINGERS on our staff. You go the EXTRA mile doing MOUNDS of ICEBREAKERS for your residents. You keep your PROMISES and you are real LIFESAVERS. You are special TREASURES to us. We wish we could give you 25 GRAND on PAYDAY. HUGS and KISSES, Joanne, Jeff, Amy, and Mark
There are many variations that can be done on these cards. They can be done individually, different candy can be used, etc. We’ll make them and deliver them to the staff offices after fall opening, at mid-semester as a pick-me-up, and/or for RA Appreciation Day. The staff always enjoy receiving these cards. They are fun to make and fun to eat!
