Fun In
The Work Place: Whats More Fun Than Praise and Recognition?

My RA staff
of eight just completed a 4 part series of hall wide programs. They put
so much effort into making these programs successful and ensuring they
had a positive impact on the resident of our building I felt compelled
to give them an extra special thank you.
For each
program there were five stations residents could travel through to learn
about important topics like sex, alcohol, nutrition and finances. So I
thought it would be fitting to have five stations of thanks, recognition,
and rewards for my staff to travel through.
I invited
the Director of Residence to one station and he provided cookies, the
Assistant Director offered shoulder rubs, the Associate Director brought
a small gift, I scheduled a massage therapist from our Wellness and Recreation
Center to give free hand massages and I had an additional treat and a
thank you card for each RA. The staff loved the praise and recognition,
especially coming from our central office staff. It meant a lot to me
that our administrators would take time to offer their support and they
appreciated being included.
This was
definitely fun in the work place!
