Door Tag Idea: Welcome Mats

Supplies needed:

Welcome mats or indoor/outdoor carpet
Puffy Paint, permanent marker or fabric or spray paint
Stencils

Instructions:

Either buy pre-made doormats or make them by cutting up indoor/outdoor carpet. Carpet square samples are available at large home stores like Home Depot or Lowes, but they usually have a waiting list, so get your name on now.

Draw or paint welcome on the top and put the resident’s first names on the mat. You can do this by using fabric paint or spray paint. If you use spray paint, you should have stencils for the letters or it will look too sloppy. Fabric paint works well, but can get expensive. Draw what you want to do first, as free hand tends to look sloppy. You can also use permanent marker. A last option, but not the best is to use puffy paint (make sure to leave at least 48 hours to dry), and don’t make it too thick or when people clean their feet off they will take off the letters.
