October Door Tags: Candy Corn

Submitted by Kari Kuykendall, Resident Assistant, University of Nevada, Reno

For the month of October I made candy corn door tags. I first took an old file folder to make a template and drew a larger triangle on it. I then cut out the template and rounded the corners. Next I traced the triangle onto orange construction paper and cut them out. Then I took the template and cut it into three (where the three different colors- yellow, orange and white- of a candy corn are). Then I took the top part of the triangle and traced it onto white paper and cut them out. I did the same for the bottom section of the triangle; I traced it onto yellow construction paper and cut them out. Next I glued the yellow bottoms and white tops onto the orange whole triangle previous cut. For the finishing touches I cut around the edges where the cutouts did not line up quite right and wrote the residents names in black marker across the bottom yellow piece of the candy corn! Happy Halloween!!
