"I've
only had a teaspoon of Nyquil!"

While
hanging out at the front desk with a fellow RA I had a resident come
into the building obviously drunk with the assistance of his roommate.
I let the guy go to his room because that is where I would have Campus
Safety and I meet him at.
When we
went down there his roommate let us in the room and showed us that the
guy was in the bathroom sitting on a stool. We asked him to come out
and asked what had happened. He kept saying nothing and that he has
never drank in his life. Clearly not in his right mind he was asked
to go to the Campus Safety office to take a PBT test. He agreed and
proceeded to sit on the couch to put his "shoes" on. These
shoes were invisible and he even tied them. He then grabbed his "wallet"
and put it in his "pocket". He was wearing a t-shirt, gym
shorts (without pockets), and socks as we walked out into the January
in Michigan weather.
Once at
the office he kept saying he's never drank in his life, and never taken
any medication. But went on to talk about how he lied and had taken
medication before but only for cold sores because in his words "those
are gross". He also kept saying that he has only had a teaspoon
of Nyquil that night. He said he was acting funny because he hadn't
slept in the past few nights.
Turns
out he blew .26 and we had to call the ambulance. He stayed the night
at the hospital and was fine by morning. Later that week when we were
talking about the incident he told me that he had been drinking and
I couldn't help but laugh. He doesn't remember that night, but he certainly
made for a good story that I still remind him of.
