RA Stories…What happens when you do not “practice what you preach”…

A couple of years ago as an RA I had a resident who made me change my mind about locking my door at night. I never used to lock my door when I went to sleep because I thought nothing of it. Then suddenly one night at about 2 in the morning, a resident of mine came into my room. So like the idiot I am I just woke up and watched him come in and not do anything. I saw him come in and sit on my futon that I have in the middle of my room. I was thinking to myself "what is this guy doing?" So I finally flipped on the light switch, He quickly jumped off my futon and told me to turn off the light. So again, like an idiot I obeyed this guy and turned off the light. Well it was a good thing that I did obey him. He stood up and left my room after that, never to return that night. I was very puzzled by this. So I confronted him the next day. He had no recall of coming into my room the night before. I was thinking to myself, "Was this guy drunk when he came into my room, then?" Come to find out this resident has a sleep walking problem!! So I guess that explained the reason why he came into my room. It was really funny and from then on I learned to lock my door at night.
